1. Discovery Call
Reach out through our website, by phone, email, or by visiting one of our showrooms. During this brief conversation we’ll discuss your project scope, timing, and goals to determine if Dovetail is the right partner for you.
You’ll then be paired with the designer best suited for your project. To begin the design process, you’ll receive our Design Services Agreement.
2. Design Consultation
For remodels, the process usually begins with a home visit so your designer can measure the space and learn more about how you live.
For new construction, your designer will start with architectural plans and a showroom visit.
Together you’ll discuss layout ideas, design preferences, appliance selections, and your investment range so we can guide you toward the right solutions. If you need some guidance with your investment range, click here for the NKBA Calculator.
3. Design Development
Your designer will create drawings and a detailed proposal outlining cabinetry, accessories and product selections.
Most projects go through a few revisions as we refine the design until it feels just right.
4. Final Design & Ordering
A final site measure confirms all dimensions before ordering.
Once the design and proposal are approved, contracts are signed digitally, a deposit is collected, and your cabinetry is ordered.
5. Project Planning
While your cabinetry and other products are being crafted, your project manager coordinates delivery and installation schedules.
This is also a great time to finalize lighting, tile, fixtures, and finishing details if you’re working with us on additional design selections.
6. Installation
Your cabinetry is delivered and professionally installed. Your Designer or Project Manager will walk through the completed space with you to ensure everything meets expectations.
7. Move In & Enjoy
Your new space is ready to be lived in. Enjoy it, celebrate it, and make it your own.
8. Ongoing Care
After a few months of use, we’ll invite you to schedule a complimentary service visit to make any necessary adjustments. Note: if you elect to "opt out" of communications you will not receive this scheduling email. Feel free to contact us directly.
