ELIZABETH DOBBIN, Senior Designer | Staunton Showroom

(540) 490-4840

Elizabeth originally joined the Dovetail Design & Cabinetry team in June 2016, and is proud to be the Dovetail Designer in her hometown of Staunton, Virginia.

Elizabeth graduated from Mary Baldwin College with a BA in Art with an emphasis in Interior Design.  Since graduating, Elizabeth has gained a wide array of experience and knowledge by working within the architectural field, remodeling, historic restoration, project management, and new construction; including home sales and the selections process.

In all positions, Elizabeth enjoyed working though projects with clients and the satisfaction of offering a finished product that exceeded expectations.  She feels it is important to let the client’s personal style shine, yet always strive to encompass the greatest functionality of the space.  Her favorite part of design is the excitement of taking a client’s vision and making it a reality.

A native of the Shenandoah Valley -born and raised in Staunton- Elizabeth enjoys the natural beauty of the area and couldn’t think of a more beautiful place to call home.  She currently resides in Waynesboro with her family.

AMY HART, Principal

(434) 980-6689

Amy Hart is honored to have been named one of America's 50 most Innovative Kitchen & Bath Professionals of 2019. She began her design career in 1991 as a Facilities Design Intern with Eastern Michigan University while studying in their top-rated accredited Interior Design program. After graduating with a BS in Interior Design and a wealth of practical experience, she went on to work in commercial architecture, product management, operations management, and then found her way into the Kitchen and Bath specialty where she has thrived since 2002.

When designing for interiors, Amy believes one must “listen” to the structure and strive for a meaningful design that feels right in the space and suits her clients’ personal styles. She doesn’t heed many design “rules”, but does believe that a room needs a hero and other characteristics shouldn’t compete for attention. Sometimes the most difficult part of design is to practice restraint.

Amy is thrilled to lead this amazing team of professionals who are dedicated to a collaborative approach to design and implementation, dovetailing our clients' conceptual ideas with our design and technical expertise. She lives in historic Scottsville with husband Eric and two big fluffy dogs Starr and Wynn. She is a member of the Blue Ridge Home Builders Association, the Blue Ridge Mountains Rotary Club, the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors and the Blue Ridge Women's Council of Realtors. Amy has also been honored with a position on the Wellborn Cabinet Designer Council.

ERIC HART, Installations & Field Service Manager

(434) 989-2657

Eric has been remodeling and installing kitchens and baths in and around Charlottesville for the past 14 years. As an official part of the Dovetail team, his goal is to install gorgeous cabinetry, take care of the two Dovetail showrooms, and take great care of our Customers.

Eric is Dovetail's lead installer and oversees all other installations and punch work. He is a great resource for our installers, answering questions, walking jobs, delivering the occasional parts and pieces, and running interference with the Designers. Eric is the one who will reach out to our Customers to check on their new cabinetry and schedule service work.

Creating a beautiful finished product for his clients is always his goal. "It's never easy" he admits. "Knowing the inconvenience put upon a homeowner during a renovation, really keeps me motivated to do the best job that I can in the shortest time possible". He laughs and says "there isn't a perfectly plumb wall or a level floor to be found! There are going to be issues that can slow the process down. But when I'm done, I want to see a happy client. That's it...that is all".

CAROLYN MALONEY, Project Coordinator | Staunton Showroom

(540) 490-4935

Carolyn brings a broad professional background to the Dovetail table. She spent the majority of her career in financial services compliance and left to pursue more creative opportunities in her adopted hometown of Staunton. She is thrilled to be in Dovetail’s Staunton showroom and learn all she can about the design and cabinetry business.

Carolyn graduated from James Madison University with a BA in Art History/Studio Art and a MAT in Secondary Education/Biology.  A native of Richmond, she fell in love with Staunton and the surrounding area during her college years and vowed to return to the Shenandoah Valley one day. In 2002, she relocated from Atlanta and bought a tiny, 120 year-old fixer-upper in downtown Staunton and has been working on renovations ever since.  Aside from tackling new construction and landscaping projects, she enjoys gardening and is a keen potter and painter.

Carolyn is proud member and supporter of several Staunton non-profit organizations including Historic Staunton Foundation, the R.R. Smith Center for History & Art, the Staunton Augusta Art Center, and the Beverley Street Studio School.

LINDSAY NADER, Project Manager | Charlottesville Showroom

lindsay@designbydovetail.com

(434) 980-6610

Lindsay graduated from Penn State University with a BS in Marketing and has more than 15 years of experience in commercial construction, residential remodeling, and client services. As our Project Manager, Lindsay serves as the primary point of contact for our trade partners and site supervisors. She loves assisting the designers, providing feedback, and ensuring that every space we design has maximum functionality. If you're visiting our showroom and hear loud laughing, it's likely coming from Lindsay's desk.

She moved to Charlottesville in 2009 and met her husband Gary shortly thereafter. Both Lindsay and Gary are originally from Pittsburgh and they love cheering on their hometown sports teams. They stay busy with their daughters Quinn (kindergarten) and Reese (preschool) who are frequently in attendance at Dovetail events. Lindsay is also the proud owner of Dovetail's "showroom puppy" Rooney who keeps the Charlottesville team company every day!

LORI RANDLE, Senior Designer | Charlottesville Showroom

lori@designbydovetail.com

(434) 328-2553

Lori brings 13 years of design, installation and project management experience to the Dovetail family.

A native of NC, Lori received her first sewing machine at the age of 5 and has been designing ever since. She attended Peace College and worked for 12 years for a fashion house where she honed her style and the art of sales and customer service.

She married her husband, David, and followed him to his home town of Charlottesville. Here they have raised their two children, both attending Wofford College as a senior and freshman. An unexpected job offer on a soccer field led Lori to the world of cabinet design. Here she found her true passion – creating beautiful, timeless spaces that transform a client’s vision into the heart and soul of their home. “When you complete a job and the client loves their project, you know that you delivered on their dream. That’s success!”

MIKE SMITH, Logistics and Field Service

Mike has been with Dovetail since 2016, taking care of our customers on the Logistics side. He can be found delivering our products to job sites, assisting in the warehouse, and helping out with installations. Mike is often described as "the strongest guy ever." Watching him singlehandedly move pantry cabinets into a house is truly a sight to be seen!

ROONEY NADER, Customer Relations Associate

Rooney is the smallest member of the Dovetail Charlottesville crew, but he brings the most joy! His main objective is to delight all who enter our showroom and pass by on Water Street. In his spare time, he enjoys sunbathing next to the front island and snacking on cardboard boxes. Originally from the Charlottesville SPCA, he now lives in Charlottesville with his family Gary, Lindsay, Quinn, and Reese.
